BEHAVIOR CHANGE PROJECT FOR ADOLESCENT BOYS AND GIRLS
CLIMATE CHANGE COMMUNICATION PROJECT
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR OVCs PROJECT
As part of our Reproductive Health Rights Program, Arise for Social and Gender Justice runs the Behavior change program for adolescent girls and boys aged 10 to 24 years. Through this project, ASJG aims to equip adolescents with information on Reproductive Health Rights, HIV/AIDS/STIs Prevention and Treatment, as well as ending Sexual and Gender Based Violence against Women and Girls (SGBVAWG). In this project we dismantle misinformation as well as harmful cultural and social norms that create inequalities and increase incidences of violence against women and girls. The boys and girls are taught to respect human rights and dignity, bodily autonomy, self-confidence and leadership. We believe that by equipping young people with these tools, we are contributing towards the goal to achieving gender equality. We invite you to join us by adopting this project to help as reach as many young people as we can. You can choose to contribute monthly, quarterly or annually. Your donations will help ASGJ to create a move of young people and a future generation that understands that they are the key to ending Gender Based Violence, new HIV infections, and bridging the inequality gap. Climate change has far-reaching implications that extend beyond environmental concerns, affecting various aspects of human life, including SRHR, especially for the most marginalized communities. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) related to climate change are primarily addressed in Goal 13: "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts." This goal focuses on various targets, including strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards, integrating climate change measures into national policies, and promoting education, awareness, and capacity-building on climate change mitigation and adaptation. Arise for Social and Gender Justice’s Climate Change Communication Project aims to address the unequal burden of climate change impacts on marginalized communities and SRHR. These programs often focus on advocating for and implementing policies that promote environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic development. Our programs focus on raising awareness of the effects of global warming and climate change among vulnerable communities, integrating climate change in SRHR, encouraging the adoption of renewable energy resources as well as encouraging practices for resilience building and adaptation. Additionally, our climate justice programs seek to empower vulnerable populations to participate in decision-making processes related to climate action and resilience-building. We achieve our goals by; hosting workshops, seminars, and educational campaigns to inform communities and young people about climate change impacts and the importance of climate justice. We invite you to join us by adopting this project to help as reach as many people as we can with information regarding climate change and adaptation. You can donate towards this project monthly, quarterly or annually. Fill out the form below to partner with us on this campaign.
Unverified reports indicate that Zambia has over 1.3 million Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), most of whom are affected or infected with HIV/AIDS. Most of these children live with the grandmothers while over 14000 live on the streets and over 20000 homes are child headed homes. These children do not have the support or family structures they need to thrive. Without access to education they face a lifetime of poverty. Our Holistic Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) project is designed to provide comprehensive support and services to children who have lost one or both parents, or are otherwise vulnerable due to factors such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, or displacement. The aim of our project is to address not only the immediate needs of the children but also their long-term well-being, encompassing various aspects of their lives. Our project supports OVCs in; School Enrollment: Facilitate enrollment in formal education, including covering school fees, uniforms, and supplies. Educational Support: Offer tutoring, mentoring, and other forms of academic support. Mental Health Support: Provide counseling and mental health services as needed, offer emotional support and counseling to help children cope with trauma and loss. Skills Training: Provide vocational training and skills development programs for older OVCs. Support for Caregivers: Assist caregivers in income-generating activities to enhance overall household stability. We invite you to join us by adopting this project to help as reach as many young people as we can. You can choose to contribute monthly, quarterly or annually. You can choose to donate towards supporting a child each term or yearly. Your support will go a long way in helping our children realize their hopes and dreams. As part of our Reproductive Health Rights Program, Arise for Social and Gender Justice runs the help her stay in school and restore her dignity campaign. According to the UN's education agency, one in 10 girls in sub-Saharan Africa misses school during their period. Some girls reportedly lose 20% of their education for this reason, making them more likely to drop out of school altogether. Absence of appropriate sanitary materials to absorb menstrual flow does not only affect female’s reproductive health but their acquisition of education. Our flagship program HELP HER STAY IN SCHOOL AND RESTORE HER DIGNITY CAMPAIGN works towards improving young women and girls’ education and menstrual hygiene health through provision of free sanitary products to help girls stay in school during their menstrual days.  Under this program, the organization works in vulnerable communities in the 10 provinces of Zambia to improve access to information and menstrual health products among adolescent girls and young women aged 10 to 24. Through our project, we distribute free sanitary products to assist orphans and vulnerable girls to remain in School, this coupled with awareness of their reproductive health rights equip young women and girls with the tools needed to prolong their stay in school and facilitate their acquisition of knowledge and long term education and learning. Join our campaign by funding this project and help one girl stay in school each year with a minimum of K250 (10 USD) per term, k750 per year (29 USD).  Your donation of this minimum amount will help one girl have access to menstrual hygiene products, leadership mentorship, access to information on SRHR and Mental Health.
